(from the upcoming album):

...I can no longer hear the sounds emitted from the dense forestation overlooking Iwaki. The harmony of the cicadas, the wind cutting through Ōkunitama and Sōzen- they have all been washed away without warning. In return, I am met with scenery that is as close to memory as it is far from self.

I can see all of Iwaki. The forests. The beaches. The twinkling lights illuminating the streets and alleyways, guiding home the weary. I find myself just overhead, just out of reach of it all, suspended. And yet when I try to tune my ears to the now distant hum of the city below, I am met instead with the sounds of the heavens.

In an instant I become aware of myself, or rather, my lack of self. In leaving my "being" behind in the forest, my senses have split. While my eyes can scan the treetops and trace the power lines, they cannot find the two hands which should be right in front of them. Instead, that body which can feel, and those ears which can hear, now seem to be drifting past the moon, past the outer reaches.

Rather than cicadas or wind, all I can hear is the cavernous drone of the celestial bodies around me. It swells and subsides, much like the tide, but with a force unlike anything I could have imagined. Inescapable. Unbridled. The thought of physically, acoustically, floating around up there, while visually remaining trapped down here, pulls me between a sensation of dread and ecstasy, right in time with the echoes of the stars. Dissociation. Or maybe, a higher sense of being. A refined sense of being.

Time passes, but how much? I cannot say. However with this passage comes a resolution to those conflicting emotions. Dread. Ecstasy. Instead, all that remains is a comfortable indifference to the feeling of being here, but also being far, far away out there. Maybe this is the altered sense of self which they spoke of. As I begin to digest these discoveries, the touch and hearing which had split off come rushing back into the "me" overlooking Iwaki. The cool night air on my skin eases my mind back into the present, and as I begin my descent to reclaim that simplistic "being" I had left behind in the forest, a familiar din comes back within earshot...
